Welcome to our Business English Class. My name is teacher Glad from the Philippines. I am an entrepreneur, Social Media Manager, former Operation Manager, and Human Resources Officer. These lessons cover a wide range of language skills needed to succeed in an English-Speaking business environment. In our class, we will use some examples of common workplace situations to help you communicate in a professional and appropriate manner. It is divided into 6 different parts we have Basic, Socializing, Telephone Skills, Conversations, Meetings, and Negotiation. For the Basic course, we will learn the vocabulary and language skills needed in a basic work situation, such as writing an email or giving a presentation. Socializing course introduces common expressions used in an informal business situation, such as networking events or welcoming new colleagues. For telephone skills, we will study the etiquette needed for a business-related phone conversation, such as placing an order or making an appointment. In the conversation course, we will cover a variety of business situations that require careful word choice or cultural knowledge, such as apologizing and asking for a promotion. And lastly, for meetings and negotiations we will focus on vocabulary, and sentence patterns useful for different types of business meetings, such as brainstorming sessions, pitching ideas, and effectively negotiating in different business situations such as processing an order and handling customer complaints.
