How do I teach with the new lesson plans?
Before the lesson, click "Start Lesson" on the lesson card. The window suggests a lesson plan for the student, by age group, English level and goal. Click "Use this plan", then "Open plan" to see the whole lesson. In the lesson, click "Show to the student" and share that window in Zoom or in the lesson room. When you end the lesson, mark how much of the plan you used and whether the goal was met.
Step by step
Open "Lessons" and find the lesson. On its card, click "Start Lesson".
In the "Start Lesson" window, open "Lesson plan". You see the plan's title and level, why it is suggested (for example "Next in Everyday conversation (2 of 5)"), the lesson goal and the steps with their minutes.
Click "Use this plan". Not the right one? "Other plans" shows up to two more, and "Teach my own" means no plan.
Click "Open plan". The plan page shows the lesson goal, a quick check, and every step: "Say", "Do", "Student", "Hint", "Easier", "Harder" and "Words".
In the lesson, click "Show to the student". A new tab opens with the student's view: share that window in Zoom or in the lesson room, and move through the steps with "Next" and "Back". Close the tab when you are done.
When you end the lesson ("End Lesson", then "Lesson took place"), the form shows "Plan: ...": choose how much of the plan you used ("All of it", "Partly", "Not used") and whether the goal was met ("Yes", "Partly", "Not yet").
"Use the plan's homework" puts the plan's homework into the "Homework" box (when the box is empty). Fill in the rest of the form and click "Send" as usual.
How you know it worked
After "Use this plan" the window shows the plan's title and the "Open plan" link. In the end form, the plan row shows your choices.
Something not working?
There is no "Lesson plan" block
Plans are being switched on step by step, and they are not offered for Speakykid lessons. If nothing fits the student, no plan is suggested: teach your own lesson as usual.
The level or the goal is wrong
Open "English level" in the block and choose the right level, goal or age group: the suggestion changes. This does not change the student's level in their profile.
